Svedka Prices & Buyers’ Guide

Svedka is a Swedish vodka manufactured using winter wheat and filtered five times. The name is a combination of the Swedish name for Sweden and the word “Vodka”. Svedka is owned by an American company, Constellation Brands, and manufactured for them by Lantmannen, a Swedish farmer’s co-op. The product was first imported to the United States in 1998. It became popular rather quickly and it is now the 2nd largest imported vodka brand.

Alternatives to Svedka at Comparable Prices

If I was going to buy vodka, I would likely look for potato vodka or something more unique. Most vodkas, be it Svedka, Titos, Deep Eddy, Smirnoff, Stoli, or premium brands, are going to be comparable when mixed into cocktails or mixed drinks. Or I would just buy gin.

  • New Amsterdam

New Amsterdam is a budget vodka starting at $10.99, available in original and a line of flavored options, New Amsterdam is widely available, and while their gin is sub-par, their vodkas are a good option.

  • Deep Eddy

Hailing from Texas, Deep Eddy has a really solid standard vodka and some unusual flavors in their lineup. It is widely available and reasonably priced.

  • Titos

Everyone should be familiar with Titos by now. While they’re no longer the cheapest vodka out there, the quality and price still make them a great alternative to Svedka.

  • Sobieski

A Polish rye-based vodka, less common in the US market, Sobieski is a good product with a smooth texture. Sobieski is also available in the standard flavors like vanilla, citrus, etc. Look for this if you’re trying to explore vodkas beyond the usual corn or wheat vodka.
